Nice little app + Updates
Since our makantrails have not been dutifully updated due to a lack of enthusiasm (my bad) and photos recently. I thought i would do something different and recommend a super cool software for the select few who visit this site. And YES! we are generating traffic!! Ever since our major photo update we have been getting a constant stream of traffic on an average basis! “And I can prove it!”
TADA!! Thanks to fervent advertising on our MSN nicks we are finally getting something! Mind you, before 10-04 the blue line stuck to the X-axis like super glue. Thanks for visiting and please tell your friends about it and visit somemore!
Ok. Onto the software i’m introducing today it’s called Konfabulator (now named Yahoo! Widget Engine) . It’s a widget engine that has since been bought over by Yahoo!. Back then you had to pay to get the Pro version but Yahoo! saved us all when they released it for free. You can read about the program history here.
Here’s an example of what this baby can do:
As you can see, there are some useful little apps here that makes life easier for us. RSS feeds, stock tickers, weather forecast, mail checker, maps and there’s even a quirky werewolf monitor that tracks the movement of the moon.
These are just some of what is available. There is a whole library of user submitted widgets waiting for you to explore. There’s so much everyone can find a widget they like!
For today, i am recommending this wonderful widget. Here’s how it looks like sitting pretty in a corner of my desktop
