The Beginning: Golden Mile Food Centre
It was a rainy Friday evening when 3 hungry NSF decided that they wanted try the delicious food they’ve talked so much about in camp. Although the sky was gloomy and dark, their spirits weren’t dampened. It was on this seemingly normal day that our Makantrail was started.
First up we tasted the pasta from Pasta Planet. I’ve heard about it somewhere and it was supposed to be pretty good. Service was good, there was a choice of 4 pasta (Wow!) and the boss was polite. The serving was okay but the pasta was not as nice as expected. And after much discussion with our pasta expert Peng Boon, we gave it a score of 2.5/5.
(Ok, enough of normal english)
But the calamari deserves special mention. Big and bouncy sotong rings fried in batter until golden brown and dipped in mayo. Damn songs!
After a round of shopping at the army market to digest what we’ve eaten earlier, we tried the famous claypot rice that you need to wait damn long for. Some cockster decided to order 3 people’s share worth of claypot rice. And we waited and waited. Really damn long. After 30 minutes and wondering whether the auntie is bringing our rice when she walk pass, our claypot rice finally came. Wah lans really damn big! We were pretty shocked. But never mind la eat first then say. It was really good. Inside the rice got chicken, sausage, vegetables and salted fish. Take note to stir the rice if not the salted fish all concentrated one area damn salty. Other then that the claypot rice was wonderful. It was sad that we didn’t finish it cos we were too full.
So to summarise,
Pasta Planet [2.5/5]
Wait damn long Claypot Rice [3/5]
